the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department:
Protecting life, property and the environment, by responding to the emergency needs of our community since 1878

Established in 1878, the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department does not just fight fires; we also respond to gas leaks, CO detector alarms, EMS calls, HAZ-MAT spills, and put on the local Fourth of July fireworks show and events.

Our team of 70+ members consists of dedicated members of our community that donate their time to help those in need when they need help most.

In addition to providing top-notch emergency services, as a result of our fundraising efforts we are able to provide university scholarships to local students, maintain historical fire fighting equipment, and provide benefits for our volunteer firefighters.
